The little things...and maybe some ocd

I decided I should write some the cute little things my kids have said lately so I wont forget them. . .

The other day Mckenna asked if our puppy (Chi Yorkie mix) is from Mexico. I said yes just to hear her reaction. She said "oh good then he knows Spanish, ho la puppy ho la. He understands me better when I speak Spanish huh? I am going to watch Dora more so I can learn Spanish." She's so cute. She has been speaking Spanish to him all week. We thought the novelty of our dog would wear off but it defiantly has not.

I told Aspen she used to be in my tummy and she said "what did you do mom, eat me?"
Then it sparked her interest for pregnant people. Everywhere we go she asks anyone even with the smallest belly if they are pregnant. She asked this really over weight man if he had a baby in his tummy! So embarrassing!
Aspen is also on a two month kick of bribbing. Every conversation (and I mean every conversation) we have with her ends with "I will give you a prize from my school", or "I wont give you a prize from my school. If we do something nice for her or she is happy or trying to bribe us she will say "I love you so much mommy and I'm going to give you a prize from my school." When it is bedtime or we take something for her or her brother and sister won't do what she wants she threatens us with "ok then I am not giving you a prize from my school." It all started with the one and only time she came home with candy and she shared it with all of us. Now it is her playing card. Its hilarious. Mckenna and Sage are sick to death of hearing it and roll their eyes at me and we laugh every time.
We are getting a little worried she is seriously ocd. She started clicking her tounge. Along with how she for two years has said huh at the end of everything she says. So you will hear it all day through out the house. If she talks to you you will hear something like this..."Mommy (click) can I have (click) a juice box (click click) I will give you a prize from (click) my school (click) if you give me one. (click) huh mommy huh!" Nate and I look at each other all day and just say wow, someone is a little intense. Thats why we love her to peices, she is a hoot.

Our week....

It has been a pretty good week for me and the kids. Sage learned that we tell him things for a reason. In the picture of him above you can see his face. We told him not to sled where he was but of course he did and he messed up his face. It was sad but a good teaching moment. Nate had to work alot but today is the start of his week off! I can't wait. I'm full of fantastic ideas for us. I think we are going to try and go up to the cabin again with some friends. Should be a good time. Monday the kids didn't have school because of the holiday so we went to Jungle Jims with our friends. It was really fun. On Tuesday Aspen had a preschool field trip at Classic Skating. Turned out good for me because that night my high school friends had our first girls night out there. So when I went back I was still stamped and didn't have to pay again. Bonus! Aspen and McKenna did a lot better at skating than I expected. I skated a little bit to make sure I remembered how so I wouldn't look too dumb later that night.

It was really fun with my friends. Both Emily's were there and Jenny. We had a really fun time. It was nice to spend time with people who I practically grew up with. Em had a list of each months activities. She had awesome ideas. I just need to remember my camera next time.

Things I accomplished this week

* Went to Real Estate couching
* Made a good dinner every night
* Got all my errands done
* Only yelled once all week at the kids (and I still kept it constructive and wasn't to mean)
* Spent a lot of time playing with the kids
* Shopped at the "Store" and only spent $28 dollars and got a set of pans, rescue pet fo Mckenna (those alone are normally $26) a really cute purse, a caboodle for Aspen (remember those Laurie), a mirror for Aspy, and a cd case for my p90x. Best store ever! Everything is new from Walmart and Target. When they don't sell it they send it to the Store.
* Went to Costco and spent under a hundred! (Hey for all you who shop there you know that's hard to do!
*Worked out
*I am multi talented so of course many many more things (ha ha)
All in all it was a really good week.

Aspen got busted!

McKenna and Sage came running down yesterday to tell me Aspen was being really naughty. I ran upstairs to see what the deal was. Yeah it was great. Aspen loves my make up but she has never gotten into it with out asking. But there is always a first right? She got into my eye cream that I splurged on. I spent forty dollars on the dumb stuff. Serves me right, of course that's what she would choose to ruin. It was almost full and she emptied the whole thing on her hands. She informed me it was not her fault and it was an accident. Really? Well it has a pump on it and only a little comes out each time. So I asked her "Aspen did you accidentally pump it a hundred times to empty the whole thing?" She said "Yeah mom yeah!" Right I should have known!

I cant wait for spring!

Iwas looking through pictures today and came across pictures from last spring. It made me sooo excited. I never thought I would miss pulling weeds but seeing the pictures of my plants made me really excited to get gardening again. I love seeing all our plants bloom for the first time each year. I cant wait for warm weather, picnics, eating Popsicle's, going to the park, walks, riding bikes, swimming, boating and playing on the tramp with the kids! We had an awesome garden two years ago with three types of lettuce, 9 tomato plants, zucchini, peppers, carrots, pumpkins, radish, cucumbers, yellow squash, bell peppers, strawberries etc. etc. Last year we didn't get to it so I hope we do this spring. It was fun making salads from all our own food we grew. I think we have all had enough of the snow. It seems Nate is snow blowing our driveway everyday. But I know he secretly likes doing it. I did it once and he said "Hey that's my job".

Isagenix

So I just did my Isagenix cleanse again. I try to do it once a year at least. So anyway I had great success (I always do). I feel so much better. Its amazing how good I feel. I wake up without an alarm clock and I don't feel that afternoon brick wall I used to always face, it seemed I would need a nap or something to get through the day. I am excited to have lost so much weight and I am back to working out to keep it off. I am doing my P90X series and the gym, I cant figure out why I quit months back. It was so not worth the extra pounds that found me. But I lost them and hope they cant find there way back. Poor Nate, I'm back to my crazy eating again....no more food with hydrogenated oils, whole wheat and natural ingredients. But he is on his own kick, he wont eat anything sweet or with sugar and it shows, he looks great.

Ok on to other topics. So last night at dinner Sage informed Nate and I that we need to have more kids. After we told him that probably wont happen because I get so sick, he told us we need to get one from the orphanage. He said they say on TV "there is a child for everyone" and we need to get one. Very cute and sweet of him. He is so tender hearted and is always worried about everyone else. But what is with my family and orphanages? Remember my last post? So me and my sister and cousins always played we lived in orphanages when we were little and it seemed to carry over to my kids. Does anyone else have kids obsessed with this topic?

Happy Valentines Day!

Hope everyone is having a happy Valentines Day. It has been a fun day for us. The kids woke up acting like it was Christmas. Mckenna was screaming in her high pitch tone with pure delight. Its funny how a few decorations and prizes from all a dollar go such a far way with kids. As soon as Mckenna got home from school, she sat down at the table with Aspen and they have seriously sat there all day playing and talking to their treasures! Valentines has been my best babysitter ever! Thank you Cupid! As soon as Sage got home he joined them. Its really fun to hear there conversations, candy hearts sure have a lot to save to each other and I didn't know chocolates grew up in an orphanage. I love there imaginations.

I do love Valentines day, I love celebrating it and letting everyone you love know how you feel. Mckenna said it best when she told me today "Valentines Day is the bestest importantist Holiday in the whole wide world cause we celebrate looovvveee!" I was laughing so hard with how she made each word sound.

I have been thinking a lot the last few days how I really am so lucky and blessed to have a wonderful husband who does so much for us. He is so forgiving and patient and a wonderful man. I am so blessed to have three healthy children who are so valiant, sweet and just amazing. Wow how I love my family!

Our Anniversary

I took a turn at planning our anniversary date this year. I surprised Nate with the date. He had no idea. I had his mom show up around lunch time, when she came I had Nate get in the car. I had our bags packed in the trunk He really wanted to know what was going on. Well I had to spill the first idea once I was lost in Heber. The first part of the date was tubing at Soldier Hallow.
It was so fun and pretty warm.
The next surprise was checking in to the Alaskan Inn. Nate had no idea when we left we were going somewhere overnight. It was the best place ever. You get to stay in your own cabin and they have themes. Ours was the Timberwolf. It was seriously the best place we ever stayed. We got changed and went to the best place for dinner, the Timbermine. It was such a cool restaurant, everything was dark but the lantern looking light above your table. Then for the next surprise...at eight there was a knock on the door and a lady gave us each a half hour massage! She was awesome. Then you know the rest. But in the morning our custom ordered breakfasts were delivered to our room. It was so fun to sleep in and have breakfast served to us and to not have to go anywhere. We did not want to leave. It was so much fun. Seeing how our anniversary is really the 15th I have a few more surprises for Nate on the real day!

President Hinkley

I was so sad to hear that Presedent Hinkley passed away. What an amazing man, leader, and example he has been to me. I love the tile I have in my home with the "B's" on it. Everytime I see it I think of him. I have been going back in my Ensigns this week reading articles that he wrote. He taught us so many wonderful things. It is so clear to me that our church is true. I will truly miss him, but I know he is in a better place waiting for us to come too. I love him! I look forward to President Monson and know he will be an amazing prophet. I am excited to see all that he will do for the church. How blessed are we to have the truth in all of our lives.

The Andersons

Well we have finally decided to start a blog like the rest of you smart people! It is such a fun way to stay connected and see what is going on in every ones life. We love all of you and hope you enjoy seeing pictures of our family and reading all about the crazy things that our kids say and do!

The Holidays, fostering, college, mission, and trips

The Holidays are approaching fast, and here we are again facing them with 4 extra precious girls. I have been pretty emotional the last two...
